Bowerbird showcasing SA design

Posted on: Wed 3 May 2017

Now in its eighth year, Bowerbird is one of Australia’s best biannual design events and it’s back on 5 – 7 May 2017.

The Adelaide Showgrounds will be home to over 160 of the country’s leading independent designers, makers, fashionistas and creatives where you can find everything from “furniture, lighting, jewellery, ceramics, leather wear, glass, the whole range,” said Bowerbird director Jane Barwick.

The market started in 2009. “There was a lack of a platform in South Australia for local designers to show their work and also for people from interstate to show their work,” said Barwick.

Barwick and Ruth Basey, the director and designer of Alfie and Audrey Vintage, joined Jennie Lenman this morning.

The market is held at the Adelaide Showgrounds on Friday 5 May 2017 from 4pm-9pm, Saturday 6 May and Sunday 7 May from 10am-5pm. For more details click here.
