Community legal sector welcomes funding cuts reversal

The Federal Government yesterday announced it will reverse its decision to cut funding to the community legal sector, and restore $55.7 million to the sector over three years.

The announcement is welcome news for community legal centres around the country – including here in SA – who’ve been long fighting against a 30% cut in funding, due to take affect on July 1st.

Council of Community Legal Services Chair, Catherine McMorrine, joined Small Change’s Lisa Burns for a chat about her reaction to the news.
