Less say for Aboriginal people in new Aboriginal Heritage Act

A Bill to amend the State’s Aboriginal Heritage Act was pushed through SA Parliament in March without proper consultation with the Aboriginal Community.

Keith Thomas, South Australian Native Title Services CEO explains why the Bill will leave us with an Act that gives Aboriginal people less say over their heritage, less certainty for developers and proponents in the mining and oil and gas industries about which Aboriginal people to talk to, unclear processes and timelines.
