On this day in history;

In 1538, the first university in the Western Hemisphere, Universidad Santo Tomás de Aquino, was established in place of a seminary on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean archipelago.

In 1999, Kenny Rogers threw a Frisbee while performing at the Adams Mark hotel in Dallas, Texas and hit audience member Kevin O’Toole. O’Toole sued Rogers for damages of $2 million USD.
