On this day;

In 1996, two cats were married in a $28,000 wedding in Thailand’s largest discotheque. This is due to the groom, Phet, having a rare optical defect known as ‘diamond-eye’ which is considered a symbol of luck.

In 1948, paleoanthropologist Mary Leakey discovers the 18 million year-old fossil remains of Proconsul africanus – ancestor of apes and humans.

In 1987, George Michael releases the hit single Faith.
