Digital skills training for vulnerable communities

Posted on: Fri 11 Sep 2020

2.5 million Australians are not online, and it’s estimated that many more have considerably basic skills. This digital divide has only been exacerbated by Covid-19.

One of the biggest challenges facing isolated and older Australians in staying digitally connected is not just a lack of digital skills, but a lack of digital devices and internet access.

Digital Mentors from Community Centres SA are reaching out to those in isolation without these skills, to help them navigate this new era.

Community Centres SA Membership and Events Officer Andrea Sharp speaks with Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis about their service helping to close the digital divide.
