Bfriend’s Calendar Photography Competition 2020

Posted on: Wed 5 Aug 2020

Bfriend is a South Australia-based queer support service run by Uniting Communities. Rick spoke to Riki, a support worker there who helped co-found the competition, being run now for the fifth time. Submissions are exhibited as part of the Feast Festival and twelve photos are chosen to be a wall calendar filled with queer interest dates and a list of various support services available to the LGBTIQA+ community. The theme this year is “Proudly Inspired”. More information can be found at the website rainbowcalendar.org or on the Bfriend Facebook page. The content is up to you but please submit high-resolution, landscape-oriented images!

Rick was also lucky enough to chat to Marla, the winner of the 2019 competition and one of the images in this year’s calendar. They had some tips for anyone thinking about entering this year. Their work can be seen at Marla Bishop Photography on Facebook or @marla.bishop on Instagram.
