The Science of Fate

Posted on: Sun 2 Aug 2020

British neuroscientist Hannah Critchlow argues that we have much less free will than we think. She is  the author of The Science of Fate: Why Your Future is More Predictable Than You Think

She believes our behaviours are hardwired into our DNA, that biochemistry, neurobiology and psychology can show that the experiences of our ancestors make us less in control of our own destinies  than we  like to think we are.

Hannah was speaking at the Adelaide Writers Festival this year, in conversation with Science communicator Dr Tania Meyer.
