Minister Ley Acting Too Early on Draft Review

The Samuels Review of the EPBC (Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation) Act has been released to the public finally – 3 weeks after being delivered to the Government, and is quite damning of Australia’s record and methodology for assessing development applications, in regard to protecting habitats and species. Barry Mitchell speaks to the Wilderness Society’s Suzanne Milthorpe about the Review, its recommendations, and the Government response, including an early indication by the Minister (Susan Ley) that she will not follow one of its key recommendations.
