DeCameron – Quarantine Revamp

Posted on: Mon 6 Jul 2020

A number of South Australia’s best emerging performers are collaborating over an exciting new online theatre production, putting a quarantine spin on Giovanni Boccaccio’s original collection of novellas, The Decameron.

Decameron 2.0, from State Theatre Company South Australia and ActNow Theatre, is showcasing 100 stories by 10 South Australian playwrights, performed by 10 or more actors for online broadcast over 10 weeks.

The choice of subject matter is particularly relevant considering Boccaccio released The Decameron five years following the black death.

Director of the project, Anthony Nicola, joins Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis to discuss this exciting new project. The first video will come online in July through the State Theatre website.
