Native Oyster Reefs will help save us

Posted on: Tue 11 Feb 2020

A new reef is growing in St Vincent Gulf. The SA coastline was once surrounded by such reefs. They were breeding grounds for fish, protected the seagrass beds and sequestered carbon. The Windara reef is 20 hectares, and thriving. Another 2 hectare reef will appear soon in the waters off Adelaide metro areas.
