Adelaide Living with Uncle Mickey

Posted on: Tue 28 Jan 2020

Episode two of the City of Adelaide’s new Adelaide Living podcast features Michael Kumatpi Marrutya O’Brien, or Uncle Mickey.

A descendant of the Kaurna (Adelaide Plains) and Narrunga (Yorke Peninsula) people, Uncle Mickey is a passionate advocate for Aboriginal culture, language and history, and takes much joy in sharing his cultural knowledge and promoting cultural connection.

In the latest episode of the Adelaide Living podcast, Uncle Mickey shares and discusses the spiritual connection of the Kaurna people with Adelaide, and how the landscape of Adelaide, and the city’s surrounds, tells the stories and history of the land; of two cultures connecting in one place.
