Machines could soon lay down the law

In an effort to streamline our dense and complicated legal systems, CSIRO have proposed to have our laws directly read and applied by machines.

It might seem like science fiction, but “Legislation-as-code” is something we could see right around the corner. What are the positives and what are the dangers?

Joe McIntyre, Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of South Australia joins Breakfast’s Zoe Kounadis and Tom Mann to explain more.
