Make cash and save waste in the sharing economy

Posted on: Tue 21 Jan 2020

As household budgets are crunched, we’re all looking to save money and make a little extra where we can. In the past several years particularly, the internet has enabled us to take the age-old practice of sharing of goods and services to a massive scale. With his new service StuffHire, Adelaide entrepreneur Tristan McAvoy hopes to help us all save waste and money by linking us to people willing to hire us tools, equipment, camping gear—whatever it may be—that would be too expensive to buy outright. And also make us a little money by hiring out the stuff that would otherwise be collecting dust in the garage. Tristan spoke with Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis.
