Adelaide Living podcast launches

Posted on: Tue 14 Jan 2020

Adelaide Living is the City of Adelaide’s online storytelling platform—where authentic stories celebrating our city, its unique qualities, and the people and projects that make Adelaide a city designed for life—are shared with the world.

Over the last few months, the Adelaide Living team has been working closely with Radio Adelaide’s production arm, Podcast Works, to develop a podcast series hosted by Travelling Life’s Dr Christina Hagger, making a deeper exploration of the stories of the city.

This week, Adelaide Living launched with its first episode, a captivating conversation with Mike Turtur AO—champion cyclist, founder and race director of the Santos Tour Down Under (TDU).

After 22 years at the helm of what has become Australia’s greatest cycling race, Mike is set to hand the race director reins to Stuart O’Grady at the end of the 2020 event.

Tune in to episode one to hear Mike open up about what ignited his lifelong passion for cycling, pushing through pain barriers to win Olympic gold, a nail-biting negotiation with a top German sprinter that potentially saved the TDU from being derailed after year one—and, of course, what comes next.
