Save the Semaphore Dunes

Adelaide metropolitan beaches vary. Some are perched right next to an esplanade, with huge boulders holding back the tide. Others further north still have the coastal dunes. Some even have wildlife living in the dunes. Residents down in the Pt Adelaide area want to keep it that way, and they’ve hit the news a bit recently as they’ve turned up in droves to stop their dunes being bulldozed to take sand BACK to the beaches further south that are always having their sand washed up the coast. Tony Bazely is secretary of the Port Adelaide Residents Environment Protection Group and has lived in Semaphore for over 30 years. He spoke to Nicky Page on Packed Lunch
