Minerals mining boost

The use of minerals is essential in the manufacturing of low-carbon technologies, like solar panels and mobile phones.
The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Enabling Eco-Efficient Beneficiation of Minerals is a Government-funded project to find greener and smarter techniques of minerals mining in Australia.
The University of Newcastle will lead the project together with a range of organisations and seven Australian universities such the University of South Australia (UniSA).
UniSA Research Professor David Beattie joins Breakfast to talk us through this massive project.
