Throwing Old Clothes in the Trash – Are You Uknowingly Destroying the Environment?

Posted on: Fri 4 Oct 2019

Did you know that throwing your old clothes into the trash is  the second biggest cause of world pollution! But there are ways that we can contribute to its reduction. This week is National Op Shop Week – an initiative created by 2010 Australian of the Year, Jon Dee. Jon explains how giving your old clothes a second and third life via charity op shops is a great way to minimise pollution as well as help those in need. But what if old clothes are beyond repair! Jon speaks about the direction of clothing recycling, and how easy it is to find a recycling organisation near you!
