Chris Howard: REME and the Forgotten War

After doing a Carpentry Apprenticeship, Chris found he didn’t like it.  He wanted to become a motor mechanic but at age 19 was too old to start another apprenticeship.  In a circuitous way, he became an Army Aircraft Technician in the newly formed (UK) Army Air Corps, and that led to overseas service.  It’s a background to the era seldom heard.
