The impact of alcohol and drug use on young people

Posted on: Fri 30 Aug 2019

A Mission Australia report reveals that three in ten young people say alcohol and drugs are a problem for their family and peers. This perception has a negative impact on many aspects of these people’s lives including their mental health, family relationships and employment and study plans.

Dr Joann Flides, Mission Australia’s Head of Research and Evaluation, talks us through the details of the report and the policies suggested to tackle the issues related to young people surrounded by alcohol and drug use.
