On this day;

in 1884, the first known photograph of a tornado is created in South Dakota.

The photographer, F. N. Robinson, observed the tornado from a street in the town of Howard; and while there was another photographer who took photos of the same tornado hours earlier, the photographs were destroyed during the engraving process.

in 1963, Martin Luthur King Jr. delivers his famous “I have a dream” speech during a civil rights march in Washington DC.

Breakfast’s Zoe Kounadis and Tom Mann elaborate more on these events in history.
