SARAH CONWAY-JAMES RAAF:  AN INDIGENOUS IDENTITY – A SEARCH FOR HER TOTEM

Sarah (Flight Lieutenant RAAF) talks openly about 30 years of learning one identity and then re-learning who she is.  It’s a very privileged insight into how the stolen generation has affected one particular family in the decades since it occurred;  how serving in the RAAF has impacted her life; and what support has she received to be openly proud of her Indigenous heritage.  But why the RAAF, and not the Army or the Navy?  It turns out to have an incredible connection to her Tribe!
