Celebrating the contributions of refugees

Posted on: Thu 20 Jun 2019

Around the world more than 70 million people are refugees. They’ve been forced to leave their home and country, fleeing war, persecution and political unrest.

Today is World Refugee Day, a day that commemorates the strength, courage and perseverance of refugees around the world.

Each year on SA Refugee Week, the Australian Migrant Resource Centre brings together over 100 organisations to present many events to coincide with World Refugee Day.

Keith Preston, arts coordinator at the Australian Migrant Resource Centre joins Breakfast‘s Bonnie Parker to discuss more about the importance of World Refugee Day and the events on offer this week.
