David Long served with British Forces Radio. Initially posted as an engineer to Germany in the 1950s, David was serving in Aden during the 1960s Civil War.
No television, no social media, and newspapers, if you could get them, were days old. Radio was King, not just as a source of information, but importantly for overcoming isolation and building a sense of community.
