Improving Water Services for People with Disability

Posted on: Fri 10 May 2019

Pamela Kirkham’s adult daughter Airlie is living with an acquired brain injury; Airlie’s 24-hour care requires significant water usage, which is three times the estimate for a three-person household.

Dave Woodmore, Customer Experience Design and Delivery Lead at SA Water, heard Pamela and Airlie’s story at last year’s SACOSS Energy, Water and Telco conference, and was inspired to do something about making life easier for those like the Kirkham family.

One year on, SA Water has announced a program to improve accessibility to its essential water services, for thousands of people living with a disability or medical condition.
