D’Urberville live in studio

Posted on: Thu 14 Feb 2019

For the first time in the Songcatcher studio, we had a trombone! Mallory Steele from D’Urberville performed live with her friend and accompanist Lydia Burford.

Mallory is a songwriter who completed a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance on trombone and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing at The University of Adelaide in 2016.

She talked about her musical journey, how her university studies impacted her songwriting, and introduced us to D’Urberville, her new contemporary pop project. Mallory likes to explore simple ideas to develop singable songs based on relatable experiences.
