Barb Valentine: WRAAC at Fort Largs

Posted on: Mon 3 Dec 2018

In 1955 young Barbara Valentine was one of the first women to enlist in the Women’s Royal Australian Army Corps.  She did recruit training at Queenscliff Victoria, then trade training at Mildura, and was subsequently posted to Fort Largs in South Australia which was the very first WRAAC Barrack in Australia. It’s a fascinating glimpse into the life of one of our women soldiers from over 50 years back.
