In 1888, Thomas Edison files a patent for the Optical Phonograph, also known as a gramophone and later as a record player.

In 1961, NY Museum of Modern Art hangs Henri Matisse’s Le Bateau upside-down.

In 1998, ‘One Week’ by Barenaked Ladies hits #1 in the US, where it stays for… one week.
