Peter Dutton’s Problematic Approach to Immigration
Posted on: Mon 26 Mar 2018
Minister for Home Affairs Peter Dutton faces a backlash for his call to fast-track visas for persecuted white South African farmers to Australia.
Minister Dutton has defended his decision stating that these farmers need ‘special attention’ and would ‘abide by our laws, Â integrate into our society, work hard [and] not lead a life on welfare’.
Dr Jon Piccini from the University of Queensland joins Tom Mann to discuss the issue with the Minister’s stance and how it re-lives a more racist time in Australia’s history.
