Calls for Commissioner for Aboriginal Children

Posted on: Fri 12 Jan 2018

In the lead up to the state election, the Liberal Party has announced that, if elected, it would appoint a Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young People.

The commissioner would work to reduce the over-representation of Aboriginal children in out-of-home care in the state.

Acting CEO of the Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement, Melissa Clarke, speaks to Small Change’s Bonnie Parker about what the commissioner would be responsible for and why the role is important.
