Posted on: Mon 18 Dec 2017

On this day in 1999, Julia ‘Butterfly’ Hill, came down from a tree that she lived in for 2 years. Hill lived in this tree as an anti-logging protest. Her protest saved the tree and all the trees within a 200-feet radius.

Also on this day in 1966, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas TV special premiered on CBS. The Grinch was voiced by Boris Karloff, who also played Frankenstein’s monster in 1930’s film series.

Finally, on this day in 1980, Bruce Springsteen played Madison Square Garden for the third time on his ‘River Tour’. He played to almost 40,000 people.
