SACOSS celebrates 70 years of service

Posted on: Fri 1 Dec 2017

Last Thursday, the South Australian Council of Social Service marked 70 years of service and celebrated the occasion with reflections and stories from those who were connected with and contributed to the organisation over the years.

Michael Dawson was elected to the SACOSS Board in the mid-90s and sat at the policy council table for over a decade. He shares his memories of SACOSS and the sector with Small Change’s Lisa Burns.

Lange Powell, SACOSS Executive Director from 1979-85, joins in to provide an historical context and recites his poem, A SACOSS Fantasy.

If you’d like to hear more stories about the organisation’s history and the people who have contributed to its service, read the SACOSS 70th Annual Report 2016-17.
