Update from Shadow Minister Aboriginal Affairs

Posted on: Wed 22 Nov 2017

In this week’s show, we talk with the leader of the South Australian Liberal Party and Leader of the Opposition, Mr Steven Marshall. Mr Marshall is also the Shadow Minister for Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation.

We talk about a range of issues with Mr Marshall, including the APY Executive Board elections and the main challenges they face; community-based dialysis in Ernabella Pukatja on the APY Lands; the Stolen Generation’s Reparations Scheme;  a treaty or treaties in South Australia; the federal government’s response to the Uluru Statement from the Heart; and the recommendation from the Referendum Council for a voice in parliament for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

This program includes one music track, ‘Ngayunya Wantiriyalku’ (I shall be released) from the album Inma.
