NZ Politics Gets Nasty on Twitter

Posted on: Mon 28 Aug 2017

Over the week, New Zealand’s Opportunities Party’s Gareth Morgan has used twitter to call Labour Party’s Jacinda Ardern a demeaning comment, saying she “must show she is more than lipstick on a pig”.

Moreover broadcaster and debate host, Mike Hosting, has confused the Maori Party and the Maori election rolls and has told people they can not vote for the Maori Party if not in Maori electric, which is untrue.

“If he doesn’t understand MMPS, why is he hosting the debate?”

Finally, Barnaby Joyce is the second most popular choice for New Zealander of the Year, but how?

Jennie Lenman and Ian Newton joins New Zealand Correspondent, Pearl Little, from 95bFM to discuss more.
