Australia Vulnerable From Pine Gap

Posted on: Tue 22 Aug 2017

Alice Spring’s Pine Gap base officially opened over 50 years ago but recent information has revealed how Australia is vulnerable and responsible when it comes to helping fight US battles.

Jennie Lenman and Ian Newton spoke with founder and CEO of SAGE International Dr. John Bruni about the recent document leaks that provide the information surrounding Pine Gap.

“The responsibility for Pine Gap really rests with both the US and Australian governments and arguably because it’s such a central role in facilitating drone strikes…we bear some responsibility with consequences of American actions abroad”.  – Dr. John Bruni explaining how Australia is partly responsible for US lead drone strikes.
