The State Government has announced a 150 megawatt solar thermal power plant in Port Augusta which is set to be up and running by 2020.

This is no small accident – it came from the work of many people, volunteers and activists – over several years, who dared to envisage a much greener future for our state and country.

“We’ve had a whole range of people from across the community who have all come on board along the years and that alliance building  has been a really important part to get us along the line,” says Daniel Spencer.

Daniel Spencer has been an important proponent of the cause as the Australian Youth Climate Coalition’s Repower Port Augusta campaigner and the 2012 Bob Brown Young Environmentalist of the Year. He was a State Finalist last year for Young Australian of the Year. He joined Breakfast’s Jennie Lenman and Ian Newton.
