State Opposition leader Steven Marshall has proposed harsher penalties for drug users in South Australia including placing sniffer dogs in schools and a $1,500 dollar markup for cannabis possession.
But will these changes lower drug use? How bad actually is the situation in schools?
Drug use is not increasing says the Alcohol and Drug Foundation‘s National Policy Manager, Geoff Munro, “illegal drug use is low and is stable…we don’t really need drastic intervention into schools”.
