Decline in Male Teachers

Posted on: Wed 9 Aug 2017

For the last century, teachers have had a huge influence in shaping children for the future, enabling them to becoming one of the most trusted people in the world. Yet, there has been a recent decrease in the number of male teachers in Australia, with a 12% drop since the 1980’s.

Dr. Vaughan Cruickshank from the University of Tasmania completed his PhD on the matter and joined Ian Newton to discuss why this is happening, and what we could do to improve these statistics.
