RSB & Op K9 – Assistance Dogs

Posted on: Mon 7 Aug 2017

We’re really delving into the whole Assistance Dogs for Veterans arena today.

Lance Bombardier Murray, a lumbering lovable Labrador stationed at Woodside cares for 180 serving personnel.  He’s currently the only officially registered animal in the Australian Military…  so says Darren Johnson, Marketing and Fundraising Manager for the RSB.

Darren, along with Assistance Dog Trainer Sophie Slattery with golden Labrador Hendry, plus Marie Iannos – Research Officer, Centre for Traumatic Stress Studies, The University of Adelaide, and Veteran Sam with his Assistance Dog Wallace  all join us in the studio today in a delightful interview with our Fiona White, exploring how these two organisations came together to create and coordinate a facility that’s making a positive impact on many Australian Veterans’ lives.
