A new, 14-week program focusing on conservation, health and social interaction is due to kick off from 2 August 2017, at Wirraninthi (Park 23).

Green Gym: Exercise to make a difference, is a free outdoor program where participants will be guided in practical activities to help transform and restore local parklands.

The initiative is run by Conservation Volunteers Australia with support from the City of Adelaide Council and SA Health.

Small Change’s Lisa Burns spoke to Conservation Volunteers Australia Volunteer Engagement Officer, Jacki Smith about the program’s origins in the UK, the kinds of activities participants can look forward to and the potential benefits to their health.
