Nick Xenophon Celebrates Carly’s Law

Posted on: Mon 19 Jun 2017

Last Thursday, Carly’s Law was finally passed by federal parliament. Carly Ryan, who the law is named after, was murdered by a man who lied about his age to her on the internet.

10 years on, there is now Carly’s Law in place to keep our children protected online. The law allows police to intervene much earlier when someone is lying about their age online in preparation to causing harm to a minor.

“I think this is going to save a lot of childrens live, above all its a testament to Sonya Ryan’s love for her daughter”

Jennie Lenman speaks with Nick Xenophon who has been backing the law for a long time and exited to see it finally pass through parliament.
