Protest — Part of Democracy

Tasmania’s anti-protest laws have become a point of controversy, with former Greens Senator Bob Brown and fellow protester Jessica Hoyt arguing that they have become a way to restrict freedom of speech.

Associate Professor of Flinders Law School Mary Heath and Associate Professor of Adelaide Law School Peter Burdon joined Breakfast‘s Jennie in the studio to talk why the laws are a problem and why they are so important to a successful democracy.
