The French Election Results Are In

The rise of populism across Europe has been stopped in its tracks, with French voters electing independent centrist candidate, Emmanuel Macron as its next president over populist candidate Marine Le Pen.

History Professor Peter McPhee from the University of Melbourne spoke with Jennie Lenman about this result and what Macron’s victory will mean for France.
