On this day in history…
In 1912, Titanic began its maiden voyage. This voyage was short-lived however as 5 days later, it collided with an iceberg that ended its historic journey.
In 1938, Germany officially annexed Austria after Austria’s citizens voted in a referendum to merge with Germany.
Meanwhile in 1970, fans of the Fab Four were left heartbroken. Paul McCartney announced that the Beatles were breaking up in an interview with himself, a month before their final album “Let It Be” was released.
