Karina Lester & daughters at the World Nuclear Victims Forum in Hiroshima 2015

Karina Lester is the youngest daughter of Yami and Lucy Lester and Chair of Yankunytjatjara Native Title Corporation. With a Royal Commission into the potential expansion of the nuclear industry in South Australia underway, she tells us about her family’s experience with nuclear in South Australia.

It’s an experience that led her to the recent World Nuclear Victims Forum, which was held in Japan to mark the 70th anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing.  While there she presented a statement by Aboriginal Native Title holders to the international community.
