South Australia’s nuclear future

Will South Australia expand its involvement in the nuclear industry? A Royal Commission is currently looking into the expansion of mining and processing of radioactive materials, the increased use of nuclear fuels for power generation and the storage of nuclear waste.

Many Aboriginal people in South Australia have expressed concern about the prospect of increased nuclear activity in our state.

Karina Lester, Chair of Yankunytjatjara Native Title Corporation explains why her family’s experience has led her to activism around this issue.
